I can't say enough good things about Glen and Trey, during the installation.  They are the hardest working guy's and work so well together.  The afternoon of the installation, we had a thunderstorm, the electricity went out and the generator kicked in immediately.  It was about 4 hours before the power was restored and the people across the street from us were hanging out on their porch, probably wondering how we had electricity and they didn't.  Since the installation, we have had 2 power outages and didn't miss a beat.

I am a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). Our professions primary responsibility is the recognition, evaluation and control of occupational hazards so people do not get sick at work. I specialize in radiation safety and local exhaust ventilation to control chemical hazards. My wife was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease several years ago and I have been considering a whole house standby generator for years; but was uncomfortable with the price, the need, and especially the standby fuel supply; not wanting to rely on a utility (natural gas) nor store on-site fuel for the standby generator (fuel oil or propane). Well, I researched extensively with regards to the Texas freeze this past February and Hurricane Ida knocking out all power in New Orleans recently; and learned that residential natural gas was never interrup ted in either disaster; and those with a utility fueled natural gas standby generator in good working order never lost power. I decided to pull the trigger and finally do it for primary peace of mind. Now the next big hurdle; finding a good quality company in the Midlands to purchase and install a Generac 22 kW generator. I moved to the Midlands from Chicago in 2017 and have been very disappointed with the contractors we have hired to do major work to our home that was built well but HVAC, plumbing and electrical was horribly installed and definitely not to required national plumbing or electrical code. I was horrified. How could that happen; a fuse panel wired that was not to the National Electrical Code; a plumbing system that included a lawn sprinkler system but no separate water shutoff for the sprinkler system and I could not find the backflow preventer which is a requirement for all plumbing systems so lawn chemicals cannot contaminate a public drinking water system. Wel l, I had to hire a certified master electrician (believe me, I checked the certification) to fix our fuse panel; and a certified plumber who finally found the backflow preventer buried in the ground and never tested for several years. (Backflow preventers for residential lawn sprinkler systems MUST be tested annually by code). We fixed all of it to great cost; including completely replacing our heating and air-conditioning system that was undersized for the house with flexible ducting throughout that was not installed correctly. (Flexible duct should NEVER be used as a primary ducting system; flexible duct should only be used as a must on a short duct run where a tin duct just cannot be squeezed through a space). Well, I found out how some of that "not to code" plumbing and electrical got installed badly; our HVAC contractor we hired to do a major remove and install told me a permit was not needed. WHAT!! I have never heard that. But I guess that's how things are done in the South ?? Certainly not the North as I lived there for 35 years. And our HVAC contractor did an overall good job; but messed up the install in a few areas. As an engineer I quickly found the incorrectly installed items and demanded they be fixed. It took awhile but they eventually fixed it for free. Then our HVAC contractor sent out some service technicians to do routine service, and they messed up the system. No more; at least I found one great service technician with our contractor and will only use them now. That service technician got everything working properly. Our house is very comfortable all year long now; and indoor relative humidity levels are below 50 % at all times. In the past; the relative humidity was so high upstairs that light bulbs are rusted in their sockets. Needless to say with the above experiences with contractors in the South; I was scared to death to hire anyone to install a standby generator. I did not even want to start calling anyone who popped up in the Midlands for a Generac generator install. GGI Generators was on that list; but I had no history of their work. So, I just sent an interest request on Generac's website and waited to see what happened. Amy from GGI generators called me about 2 weeks later. George came out for a quote and my wife was immediately impressed. I spoke with Amy. I never waited more than an hour if I left a message and Amy was calling me back. When I asked Amy if this job would be permitted; she said "absolutely"; we file permits for all installs. That was all I needed; HIRED!! Amy and GGI generators did everything for me once we signed the contract and sent in our deposit. Then Glen and Trey came out for the install. I took the day off from work as I am scared to death to have anyone work on my house anymore. What a pleasure!! Glen and Trey are VERY EXPERIENCED master electricians. The weather was questionable and Glen warned me about permitted jobs and how weather can really mess with that schedule. Glen left it up to me if we wanted our power company to pull power. As a permitted job; once the power company pulls power; they will not re-install the meter for power to the house until the permit inspector clears the generator install and natural gas install. Have LOTS of experience with major installs all over the world; I knew this, and just decided to do it. As I say sometimes; "do it and pray". Well, prayers worked, the weather held and the rain disappeared. All went like clockwork!! I loved talked business with Glen and Trey!! They know their stuff!!!! I am not a master electrician; but have done enough design work on industrial ventilation systems requiring major heavy duty motors to know that not all electricians are good; and you want the best electrical to do major installs. Glen and Trey are those people; I would never hesitate to hire Glen or Trey to do a major install on anything. I wish I could hire them for work situations. After 4 years of living in the South; and lots of major work done on my house to fix non-compliant electrical and plumbing; I was happy with an install. GGI generators did everything perfectly. My faith has been restored in Southern contractors !!! George, Amy, Glen and Trey are great people who know their stuff and work very hard!!

Some of my family members own Generac generators in other states like Florida where it is used a lot with no issues. I looked on the internet and found GGI Generators in my area. The main reason why I also called them for an estimate was they dealt with only Generac. George, Glen, Trey and Amy were wonderful. George came and told us what to expect and the cost and nothing changed from the original estimate. Amy set up everything with the gas company, the permits and called before hand and asked if we had any questions before they came. Glen came to install it. We were expecting it to take longer but the good Lord was looking out for us on the hottest day of the year and we only had to be without electricity for only about an hour. Glen and Trey were good at explaining everything (now if we remember it) and actually showed us what we need to do which is very simple. I wish all businesses had the hospitality and caring attitude as GGI Generators. I would recommend them 100 percent.

Making the decision to purchase and install a whole house generator is a major step for any homeowner. One can hope that all the details involved will proceed without any major glitches or disappointments; however, in general, this is frequently not the case. We had GGI install a whole house generator over a year ago, I did not want to review the Generac or the company until we had a power failure. The system comes with an app that tests the machine every week and sends a report to my phone. It worked every time. Whenever I have had a question, GGI either answered the phone when I called or called back very quickly. This morning we lost power. The generator cycled and power was back up in less than a minute. Of course the electronic devices like clocks had to be reset. After about an hour I heard the generator cut off. The switching mechanism was so fast that when power from the electric company came back on, not even the clocks needed to be reset. So in summery, GGI was an excellent choice. Generac was an excellent choice. It was definitely worth the money. I would definitely recommend GGI to anybody wanting a whole house generator.

The phrase "turnkey installation" is embodied by the team at GGI. From the 1st meeting when George handed me the estimate including price, references and insurance info to the installation I was amazed at their service and it's all in-house. I typically get 3 estimates- one never sent the estimate and the other took 4 plus weeks so I knew at that 1st meeting that all others would be compared to GGI. The installation was started 3 days early due to impending bad weather because the guys didn't want to risk damaging the electrical parts. Amy coordinated everything- the gas company, the power company and the team. It's been a couple of months since the seemless installation and every Wednesday when that Generac kicks on I'm reminded that I'm protected. Try getting service from anyone else in South Carolina. I had 3 appointments for a Generac installation. The first sales rep. was great and the front runner, until George showed up. So happy with the decision. The crew came in on time and did everything they said they would do. They cleaned up after themselves. Explained everything and answered all of my questions the day of installation. The generator passed all of it daily and weekly tests/updates/checks. Did I mention this is a family run operation. They never past the buck. Always responded by phone or email, and promptly. Folks if you are undecided, allow me to make the decision for you. Do not waste time with the company from NC, through Home Depot. George has the best prices and deals for a Generac generator.

2 months ago I had never heard of GGI Generators. I am so glad I heard about them when I did. They just installed a Generac Standby generator at my home. From the first contact I had with GGI was to setup an appointment. I was blessed to talk to a lady named Amy. This lady is friendly, knowledgeable, willing to help and a true professional. Thank you Amy for taking such great care of my family and our needs. Another professional came to my home to do the survey our needs. His name was George. Another person that is as professional in every sense of the word. Did his survey of what he found to be our needs as far as what we needed to make sure we would get according to what we told him what we wanted. Thanks to his knowledge and his expertise I feel we got what we needed and not what we thought we needed. He made sure we did not get more than we needed. I feel like he could have sold us things we did not need just to make more money, but he did not. That, I believe, is the true mark of a professional and someone who cares about the customer and his company. And on the morning of 6 February two gentlemen from GGI arrived at our home at the time we had scheduled. Glenn Mathis and Trey (I did not get Trey's last name)were the installers for GGI I've been around for 73 years, been around the world in my 23 years in the USAF and cannot remember but maybe a handful of people that worked as hard as these two men. Like the other folks I have made contact with at GGI, they were professional very knowledgeable about their task, needed no supervision. They were so very nice and respectful to my wife and myself. They went about their task letting nothing delay them. Glenn and Trey went over the operation of the unit upon completion of the installation. They made sure we understood ever ything before they left. They could have handed us a book and said everything we need to know is in it but they went over everything step by step until we were confident in its operation. An asset to GGI Generators. Well here you go... Another testimonial from me... It took 3 years but I finally saved enough money for George and his crew to install a new 22K... They installed it this morning and I could not be more thrilled... When Glen and Trey was finished and ready to run it they told me to turn on all 3 of my window units... I thought he was nuts... But OMG!!! Worked like a dream... Then they kept telling me stuff to turn on with the a/c units still running and it powered everything perfectly... I am in the middle of renovating my 1980 brick ranch I just bought. GGI installed my new Generac 22KV whole house generator Tuesday of this week and it is now Thursday. I already have 23 hours of use on my new generator because the local electric company believes it's not a big deal to pull the meter to the house, leaving the customers property with the plan to come back ‘whenever’ to inspect and reconnect your house! I initially thought living out here my problem would be thunderstorms and downed trees, but I never expected to have an issue with the electric company. The GGI installers figured out a work around on the spot to make certain we had power to the house until we got through the inspections and the re-connection of service. These guys were on site for two full days making sure everything was done properly! They were cognizant of my other contractor inside trying to work in the bathroom. They were efficient and kept the area clean and neat, leaving their install area better than before they got here. Their install is professional and concise, looking aesthetically pleasing. They also informed me of some important wiring issues in my main panel that other contractors had created and will need resolution but made certain there was nothing dangerous there now. They were courteous at all times and always spoke to me with respect. They kept me informed every step of the way. I can't express how truly appreciative I am for their dedication to my install and the high quality work they performed. Not only do I recommend GGI for their generator installs but won’t hesitate to use them for all my electrical wiring needs. I fully intend to be a customer for life!

These are now my electrical go to guys. I have had them install two generators at two homes over the past 4 years and the generators (17KV & 20KV) have worked like a gem. They also are so organized and neat in their installations. One home was a foreclosure with electrical issues... they made the county inspector and myself very happy with there rework of out of code installations. I have owned 7 homes over the past 30 years and have found them the most reliable and very professional. They excel in communication skills keeping me informed of the status of the installations. If you are looking for a whole house generator, do not make the same mistake I did and try to do it on your own... Call George at GGI at 803-648-9898... He is the electrical expert and a licensed Generac dealer... He will get you hooked right up with the right size generator to meet your needs... I bought mine from Northern Toole and they sized me wrong... Had I known about GGI in the first place, the right size unit would be sitting here... George worked with what I had, and it will run enough to keep me warm and fed... But I really need a bigger unit to do exactly what I wanted... Also my electrical box was not up to code and George now has everything perfect!!!!

Late this summer I had lightening strike my home. When all the insurance and investigations were through it was determined that I had a lot of wiring problems. The gentleman at GGI have worked with me through these problems and have given me comfort knowing my home is now safe in this area.
